I'm not a big fan of certification. With one exception, I've never taken a test that my boss didn't require me to take.
I've been certified on every Check Point version since they began certification testing in 4.0. I've been a Check Point Certified Instructor since 2000. I'm a Nokia Certified Instructor (very funny story there...) and I hold a current CISSP and CISM as well.

I began working with Check Point Firewall-1 (that's what they used to call it) in 1996. I inherited licenses for 2 SmartCenters, and 8 gateways. The first version I worked with was probably 2.1b or c. By the time 4.0 was released I was teaching Check Point classes for VeriSign, Inc., and later for Vigilar, Inc, and Forsythe Solutions Group .

Bob Snowdale started Temet in 2006, after 25 years in technical training, 10 years in Network Security, and 6 years in general information security management.

I've done training professionally since 1981. In the 1980's I worked for Digital Equipment Corporation (they used to make "mini-computers, and stuff). At DEC, I taught everything from networking hardware to Operating System Internals.
In the early 90's, I worked for Bay Networks (they used to make "multi-protocol routers" in the days when we had multi-protocols!) We dealt with IP, DECnet, Novell IPX, Appletalk, and routing protocols like OSPF, BGP-4.
For the past decade I've specialized in Security Training, teaching Check Point products, CISSP Exam Prep, Security+ classes, and so on
